What We're Learning

On this page, you'll find an outline of the units of study we'll be covering in Term 2. More information on the Grade 7 learning expectations for each subject can be found in the Ontario Curriculum (linked below) and the corresponding Parent's Guide. Term 2 Units of Study:

Language: Morphology, sentence structure, digital literacy and media literacy, research skills, oral communication

Math: Coding, mathematical problem solving and critical thinking skills, SEL (social-emotional learning), measurement

Health: Mental health literacy, Substance use/addictions, Human development & sexual health (Note: a letter will be sent home before we begin this unit with further information and an option to withdraw your child)

Fitness: Ongoing personal fitness plans and goal-setting, movement skills/concepts/strategies

History (7B): Canada 1800-1850 (e.g. War of 1812, The Great Migration, Rideau Canal, Lower and Upper Canada Rebellions)

Geography (7B): Natural resources (e.g. renewable and non-renewable resources, conservation, natural resources in Canada, fair trade & boycotts)
